Choosing a Coffee Cup Set of Six: Espresso or Larger Cups?
A coffee cup set should suit what you actually serve. Before choosing a colour, decide whether you need compact cups for small coffees or more room for milk, water and longer drinks. Then check how many cups the set contains and whether matching saucers are included.
Our coffee cup collection includes four ranges: Frosted, Aqua Speckle, Stone Grey and Desert Sand. Each option is sold as six cups. The espresso options also include six matching saucers, while the larger coffee cup sets contain cups only.
Start with the drink, not just the product photograph
Choose a capacity that accommodates your usual finished drink, including any milk or water, without needing to fill the cup to its rim. Coffee recipes vary, so the name of a drink alone is not a precise serving measurement.
For smaller servings, compare the 95 ml and 100 ml espresso options. For a larger drink, consider the 260 ml Aqua Speckle cup or the 300 ml Stone Grey and Desert Sand cups. A larger cup offers more space; it does not require you to pour a larger coffee every time.
For a closer look at small-cup selection, see our existing espresso cup size guide.

Check the selected size and what is included
For Aqua Speckle, Stone Grey and Desert Sand, the Size selector changes which set you are buying. It does not add a second set or combine both sizes in one purchase.
For example, choosing Aqua Speckle's 95 ml option gives you six espresso cups with matching saucers. Choosing its 260 ml option gives you six larger handleless cups instead. The same distinction applies to the small and large options in Stone Grey and Desert Sand.
Frosted uses a Colour choice: Jade or Black. Both options contain six 95 ml porcelain cups and six matching saucers.
Choose the presentation that suits your table
A matching saucer gives you a coordinated serving arrangement and a place for a spoon. A cups-only set suits a simpler presentation. The useful question is whether you regularly want a saucer—not whether a higher piece count automatically makes a better purchase.
For a restrained porcelain setting, compare Frosted's two colours. For a speckled stoneware finish, consider Aqua Speckle or Stone Grey. Desert Sand brings a warmer neutral tone. These are styling choices; material alone does not establish that one cup will retain heat longer, resist damage better or suit every person's hand more comfortably.
Buying for guests or as a gift
Count the people you normally serve at once. A set of six provides six cups in the chosen size; it is not a mixed box containing three small and three large cups.
For a gift, start with the recipient's usual drink and preferred serving style, then choose the finish. Someone who makes small coffees may appreciate an espresso set with saucers, while someone who prepares larger drinks may prefer the extra capacity of a cups-only set. Our espresso cup gifting guide covers occasions and presentation in more detail.
Questions to check before you order
Does an espresso set contain six or twelve cups?
Our espresso sets contain six cups and six matching saucers: twelve individual pieces, but six drinking cups.
Are saucers included with the larger cups?
No. The larger Aqua Speckle, Stone Grey and Desert Sand options are sets of six cups only.
Does one set include both espresso and larger cups?
No. Select the size you need on the product page. Each size is a separate six-cup option.
Where should I check price and availability?
Use the current product page for the selected option. Prices and stock can change, so this guide focuses on the range's specifications rather than a temporary offer.
